Spire Little Aston Hospital Physiotherapy Department has a vacancy for a part time Physiotherapy Assistant (30hrs/wk).
The position involves a wide variety of tasks, both clinical and non-clinical. The clinical aspects include working alongside the Inpatient Physiotherapy Team with post-operative patients in order to prepare them for discharge home. There will also be weekly clinical involvement with the Outpatient Physiotherapy Team in the provision of exercise rehabilitation classes. The successful candidate will need to have a hands-on approach with patients and the ability to motivate people with a variety of physical abilities. Non-clinical tasks will include the management of stock, maintenance of equipment and other administrative tasks including simple audit and that which contributes to the day to day running of the department.
Good communication, organisation and team working skills as well as an eye for detail are essential. Relevant experience in a healthcare role is beneficial. Once established within the role there is the potential to undertake a Health Award NVQ which can lead to the scope of the job extending.

E Working within the role of assistant while undertaking a Health award NVQ - Allied Health Profession Support (Physiotherapy and Occupational support) Level 3.
E Customer or patient facing/caring role
E Experience of inputting data to spreadsheets
E Experience of working under minimum supervision and planning time effectively
D Experience of working in a hospital environment

3. Knowledge and Technical Ability
E Trained on MS Office and other relevant packages
E Awareness of hygiene and infection control
E English language to IELTS 7.0
E Possess the necessary clinical, mandatory and medical device competences
E Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety legislation as it affects patient and employee welfare.
